About the Topic:
Northrop Grumman has industry-leading capabilities and experience
in addressing the potential threat to aircraft posed by Man-Portable
Air Defense Systems (MANPADS). Northrop Grumman has been selected
by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to proceed to Phase
II of the Counter-MANPADS program. During Phase II, Northrop Grumman
will complete the design, fabrication, installation, flight testing
and certification of prototype Counter-MANPADS systems on two
commercial aircraft. This presentation
will show how Northrop Grumman will provide effective and economical
protection for commercial aircraft application.
About the Speaker:
Leo Danielides is the Counter-MANPADS
Program Manager at the Rolling Meadows Site of the Defensive Systems
Division of Northrop Grumman Corporation. Leo has extensive program
and project management experience at Northrop Grumman and Boeing
Commercial Airplanes. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering
from Purdue University, attended Post Graduate Studies in Aviation/Aero
at Univ. of Washington, Seattle and obtained Executive Business,
Leadership and Management Training (MBA) through Boeing EXPO program.
Leo also holds a Commercial Pilots License.
