Description
IEEE Southeastern Michigan Computer Society Chapter, jointly with Oakland University School of Engineering and Computer Science is offering a one-day (free) workshop on Embedded Systems. The Annual Embedded Systems workshop is open to all engineers and students. This is an annual workshop in a series of in-depth workshops in embedded system design and applications. The aim of this workshop is to disseminate knowledge, benefit the IEEE members and indirectly improve the technology and Michigan economy. Speakers and experts from the embedded systems industry will be making presentations, and will also be available for discussions and networking throughout the day.
See the Embedded Systems Workshop 2012 presentations and schedule from last year.

Advanced Revision Control for Embedded Systems Development Using Mercurial and Tortoise Hg
Mark Ciechanowski, P.E., CSDP Mercurial and GIT are modern, open source, distributed version control systems that have replaced the older tools such as RCS, CVS, and Subversion. This talk will cover a short review of last-year's presentation that introduced Mercurial and good software practices using configuration management from swebok.org, and then go on to cover more advanced scenarios of using CM such as: 1) Merging of source code from more than one developer, and 2) Branching for a release and handling bug-fixes in prior releases. This presentation will also cover how to recover from common mistakes. |
