Abstract:
Zigbee is a wireless technology that enables industrial,
residential and commercial applications based on low-cost, low-power
wireless control products.This talk will provide an overview of the
protocols, security, market opportunity and network configurations
supporting applications for home energy, commercial HVAC, or even
mobile commerce.
Speaker Bio:
Brent Hodges is the Vice President of Marketing and Business
Development for the ZigBee Alliance. Brent started his work in
technology at a venture backed start-up in Boston . Ember Corporation
was an early pioneer in developing wireless mesh networking technology
for sensor networks. As the tenth employee, Brent was responsible for
Business Development and led the company to its first revenues and was
the top producing sales executive while at the company. He managed key
customer relationships during the company's transition to a fabless
semiconductor supplier and promoter of the ZigBee Alliance. Brent also
developed and managed the Ember Partner Program, which successfully
established an ecosystem of value added partners and expanded sales
opportunities. Brent holds a BS
in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University , an MS in
Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard
Business School .
