Central Area
The Central Area of Region 6 encompasses part of central California from Monterey to Chico and also includes Northern Nevada and Hawaii.
2013 Region 6 Student Congress
During the weekend of August 9-11, Region 6 is holding a Student Congress. Region 6 (ieee-Region6.org) covers the Western U.S. – from Alaska to New Mexico and Montana to Hawaii. This event would be hosted by IEEE Student Branch at Stanford University and would include keynote speech, contests, workshops, student officer training, industry tours, and door prizes.
Industrial advocates are invited to cover a portion of the budget for this event, either cash, or in-kind. Sponsors may take an active role at various events and program activities. Additionally they are provided to have an exhibit booth or company display that will provide the attendees with information about the company, explanations of the company’s use of engineers and opportunities for technical professionals, key corporate projects or initiatives, and other program information that the company would like to distribute.
2013Spring Central Area Meeting Report
A successful Spring Central Area Meeting was held on May 4th at UC Davis. 80 participants from 6 Student Branches from University of Hawaii at Manoa, CSU Chico, University of Nevada at Reno, UC Berkeley, CSU Fresno and our host UC Davis took part in the activities.
Ten authors in two teams participated in the Paper Contest, 11 designers in three teams participated in the Design Contest, and 26 students in 8 teams participated in the Micromouse Competition
