ABOUT THE TALK

This presentation will give an introduction into the types of attacks (with real examples) enterprises endure on a regular basis. Additionally, there will be a discussion on common defense strategies, methodologies and a look at what the future of security has in store.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Matthew Myrick is the Security Architect and senior member of the Computer Incident Response Team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He started his career at LLNL as an intern and has worked here for over 19 years. His research interests include network defense, incident response, reverse engineering, penetration testing and forensic analysis. He is a frequent speaker and advocate of computer security throughout the Department of Energy, Defense Industrial Base, and was a guest lecturer at NPS. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from California State University, Chico and holds a handful of professional certifications.
