ABOUT THE TALK

Dr. Robert Baertsch will describe this unique transportation project in great detail. This radically new high-speed transportation system uses Maglev suspension and linear induction drive of 2-man pods.

Since no U S company was interested in manufacturing and distributing this product, it was taken to Israel for further development and production and is now being installed in Tel Aviv.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Robert Baertsch is responsible for skyTran’s linear synchronous motor control software. Dr. Baertsch has a BA in Electrical Engineering from SUNY, Stony Brook, and a PhD in Computational Biology from the Center for Bio-Molecular Science and Engineering from UC, Santa Cruz. At Brookhaven National Lab, Robert worked for the Instrumentation Division where he built detectors for high-energy physics experiments. Robert also was employed at the United Nations where he led a worldwide team of software developers.
