Abstract:
While the core specifications of the 802.11 working group have been completed for over a decade, the adaptation of these standards to the Internet of Things is
markedly less mature. This talk goes through the system and architecture implications of the ubiquitous variants of WiFi, with the specific goal of developing a
product optimized for IoT applications. This is in many cases impeded by aspects of the standard that did not consider IoT use cases; as a result, design innovation
is required to circumvent these limitations.
