BY-LAWS

ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS CONSTITUTION OR BY-LAWS
I NAME
II ORGANIZATION
The voting members of the Council shall consist of the following or their designates: the Council Chairman, the Chairmen of the Canadian Atlantic, Montreal, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ottawa, Quebec City and St. Maurice Sections. The Chairman shall have a vote only in the event of a tie. A quorum shall consist of a majority of the voting members. The Council Chairman shall serve for a two year period, commencing on January 1st and may be re-appointed for a second term.
Non voting members may be added to the Council Committee at the discretion of the Council Chairman. The Council Chairman shall represent the Council as required in the Canadian Region 7 By-Laws and represent the Council on the Regional Executive Committee.
III PURPOSE
This Council is formed for the following purposes:
2) To encourage within the Sections student branch activities and membership development programs.

3) To assist and encourage bidirectional communication between Sections within the Council and the Regional Main Headquarters.
4) To hold and Annual executive training session for Section Vice-Chairmen or a person designated by the Section Executive.
IV NOMINATION OF CHAIRMAN
A Nominating Committee will be established, consisting of three persons as follows:
2) One member of the Council Committee chosen by the Council Committee members.
3) The third member shall be the Regional Director.
Selection of the nominee for Council Chairman shall be by letter ballot of all Council Committee Members.
In order to be eligible for selection, the candidate must be of at least Senior Member grade.
V OFFICERS
The Council Chairman may appoint such other officers as may be required from time to time to carry out the purpose of the Council.
VI AMENDMENTS
Amendments to these By-Laws may be proposed by any Council Committee Member. A proposed amendment may be approved by a favourable vote of 2/3 of the Council voting Members, provided notice is sent at least 20 days prior to the date sed for the meeting, at which time the vote is taken.
