Executive Meeting

Summary of Action Items:

Action:
Siu to recommend a suitable venue for dinner to show our appreciation to the invited guests. This meal will also serve as our annual Christmas meal.

Action:
Mike to print 20 copies of the by-laws and bring same to the AGM.

Action:
Eric to ensure that cheese and pop are available at the AGM.

Action:
Scott to submit report to Kathleen outlining Student Activities at AGM.

Action:
Dennis to secure two golf shirts for the two individuals presenting at the AGM.

Action:
Mike to contact Todd to ensure that he submits a report on Technical Activities.

Dennis to bring copies of the Fall Newsletter to the AGM.

Action:
Yves to compose a list of invitees to the Marconi Competition and forward invitations to them as soon as possible.

Jeff to arrange for certificates for winners in the Marconi Competition.

Eric to investigate whether our Student Branch is eligible for some kind of IEEE award.

    Jeff to forward the itinerary outlining the activities associated with the Marconi Student Competition to Mike for inclusion into these summary notes.

    Siu to send Yves a copy of an invitation to the Marconi Competition for the Governor General.

    Yves to sign the invitation and deliver the invitation to Dr. Meisen who, in turn, will sign and forward to the Governor General.

    Yves to compile a list of people who should be invited to the Marconi Competition and forward the list to Mike (for inclusion into these summary notes) and Siu

    Siu to determine an appropriate manner in which to recognize the efforts of Joe Craig (and maybe others).

    Closed. Six individuals involved with the Marconi Competition will be invited to dinner. Joe Craig will receive an IEEE golf shirt as well.

    2. Marconi Competition

      IEEE Canada has donated $5190 to the Marconi Competition for travel expenses for students, prizes, and other miscellaneous expenses.

      There will be a number of prizes awarded during the competition.

      A motion was passed to loan Siu $1000 for lunch for the students and other attendees. The money will be repaid as soon as possible.

      Yves to compose a list of invitees and forward invitations to them as soon as possible.

      Jeff to arrange for certificates for winners in the Marconi Competition.

      Eric informed the executive that Dr. John Quaicoe has been nominated again for the IEEE educator award.

      Eric informed the executive that the winners of the Term III and Term VI IEEE scholarships were Lori Hogan and Gloria Tam.

      Eric to investigate whether our Student Branch is eligible for some kind of IEEE award.

    5. The next meeting will be held on December 6, 2001 at the S.J. Carew Building at 7:00 p.m..
