Abstract:

Microelectronics has led the technology in the miniaturization of devices and systems. In recent years the scientific and engineering communities have been racing to develop smaller and smaller devices that satisfy important needs. At the present time, devices and systems that are in micro- and nano-scale are embedded in everyday devices.

This technology led to the development of micro-machines, micro-robots and other gadget that might be implanted in machines and even human body to deliver medicine or diagnose diseases. This talk will introduce current developments in nanotechnology and microsystems and will cover applications in industry and medicine.
