Region 3 sponsors a number of important awards that only Region 3 members are eligible for. The deadline for submittals of nominations for Outstanding Service, Outstanding Engineering Educator, Outstanding Engineer, Professional Leadership, and Employer Professional Development are due to the ARC no later than December 1, 2000. Sections are also able to apply for recognition as an Outstanding Section at any time during the year. These awards are very important to the Region, and are presented in a well attended luncheon at the annual SoutheastCon Conference. Section Awards Chairs should be in the process of preparing nominations for consideration for these awards.

The conference in 2001 will be held on the beautiful campus of Clemson University adjacent to Lake Hartwell. Co-sponsored by the Piedmont Section, Region 3, SC Council, and Clemson University, the conference will provide professionals with technical sessions, tutorials, exhibits, student competitions, and various region meetings. A job fair and perhaps a couple of plant tours to some of the Upstate's unique plants are also planned. This conference will help you continue "Engineering the Future...". Please visit the conference web site at: https://www.carol.net/ieee/secon2001, for the latest information and details (including a planned online registration form). If you need a meeting room for a committee function at SoutheastCon please contact the SoutheastCon Committee as soon as possible.
This meeting will be by Econference in January 2001
