Bill Harrison (w.harrison@ieee.org),
Corporate Relations Committee Chair
We are pleased to report that Marilyn Catis has accepted the newly created IEEE Corporate Relations Manager position. In addition to developing and implementing a corporate relations strategy for the Institute, one of Marilyn's initial assignments is to update the Region 3 "pilot" CD "tool kit". Volunteers from Regions 1 through 10 will be invited to participate in second phase Corporate Relations Pilot. We anticipate the updated Corporate Relations "tool kit" for use by local sections and chapters will be distributed via the Internet and CD. Marilyn is developing a plan and schedule for the update.
Marilyn has some excellent ideas for scripting and making the next version a truly professional work. Region 3 will be involved - in addition to Region 3 support, we have received a $5,000 grant from the IEEE Foundation to support the expansion of the project to all regions. Foundation funds will help develop and distribute the training materials in CD and Web Page format. Neither Charles Hickman nor Bill Harrison plan to "star" (again) in the video clips for the update. Region 3 ExCom volunteers are solicited to become video stars, or to work with implementation of the next phase of the Corporate Relations project at the local section or chapter level.Marilyn welcomes your Corporate Relations suggestions and ideas, as well as video volunteers. You can contact her at mg.catis@ieee.org
