Date: 15 January 1998

I would like to acknowledge the work of Robert Duggan, our previous Public
Information Chair.  Bob has built an excellent database of Region 3
"information channels".  We will build upon this foundation as  we find ways
of sharing our work and our information with the general public within Region 3.

The job of PI is not a single contributor role.  PI is a member of a team
called the Communications Committee.  I will be working closely with Brian
Swail and Brian Skelton as we use the media as well as our own channels to
deliver the message of IEEE in Region 3.

Please encourage your section and council members to let us know of their
hard work and we'll make sure that others can know of and learn from it.
