Subj:  SPC Report for October 24-25 ExCom Meeting

The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) met on 4/25 in Orlando and will
meet again in Jackson on 10/24.

Composed of past Region 3 Directors, the SPC has many years of IEEE
service among its members.  

The SPC is responsible for preparing the Reg. 3 Strategic Plan, which we
have done in accordance with the plans of the IEEE, IEEE-USA, and the
Regional Activities Board (RAB).  This was a specific focus at our
meeting on 4/25, now that the IEEE, IEEE-USA, and RAB plans have been
published.  

The draft Strategic Plan for Region 3 has been submitted to the SPC and
to the ExCom.  We will request ExCom approval of the Plan at the ExCom
meeting.

Other areas of SPC concern are the maintenance of the Reg. 3 Operations
Manual, advising the Director on various problem areas such as funding
for the Sections Congress and the National Scout Jamboree ... and such
other tasks as may be assigned by the Reg. 3 Director.

Other decisions and/or recommendations from our 10/24 meeting will also
be reported at the ExCom meetings on 10/24-25.
