IEEE Virginia Council Winter Report to Region 3 EXCOMM
January 6, 2003

The Virginia Council Chair rotates every two years.  I have just
succeeded Sean Haynes as Chair.  I was able to meet a few of you at
Southeastcon last Spring, and hope to see more of you in Jamaica.

Under Sean's leadership Virginia Council had a successful 2002,
highlighted by revival of the Richmond and Central Virginia Sections
which were in peril a year ago.  Thanks to Ralph Russell and many
others who made this effort successful.

Goals and Objectives for 2003 are:
1) Have at least 2 usages of the electricity demonstrator.
2) Hold at least 2 meetings face-to-face and hold at least 2
   e-conference meetings.
3) Make sure all VA Council sections and the council itself files all
   necessary IEEE reports on time.
4) Revitalize the PACE Network (more information to come).
5) Fill all vacant VA Council positions, including PACE, Education, GOLD, etc.
6) Review Council Bylaws and update if necessary.

I'm looking forward to a busy year!
