Subj:   SPC Winter Report for 6 Jan 2003

Below are the Goals and Objectives set forth for the SPC for 2003.

2003 SPC G&Os

1. Update Reg 3 Strategic Plan 2004+ by 12-1-03, revising Reg 3 goals
   and objectives as appropriate.

2. Post the Reg 3 Strategic Plan 2004+ to the Web by 12-15-03.

3. Assign mentors to each Reg. 3 Committee by 1-18-03.

4. Review Reg 3 structure and recommend combining or elimination of
   committees where appropriate by 12-1-03.

5. Update the Reg 3 History by 10-1-03.

6. Review and next update Reg 3 Bylaws by 10-1-03.

7. Review and next update Reg 3 Operations Manual by 10-1-03.

8. Assist the Director in making sure all G&O's are being addressed.

9. Insure all Region Committee G&O's are in support of the Region
   strategic plan.

10. Hold at least one SPC e-conference.

An informal ad hoc Reg 3 group is gathering in the Atlanta area on 22
February to discuss some of the above G&Os as well as the various 2003
G&Os submitted by the Areas, Councils, and other committees in Region
3. This group will include the key Reg 3 officers and several SPC
members, most of whom live not far from Atlanta or have family
there. (A key concern is to conserve Reg 3's tight budget).


Any comments or recommendations that result from this ad hoc Atlanta
gathering will, of course, be submitted to the full SPC.
