Region 3 PAOC Goals and Objectives
Objective 1 - Maintain the Region 3 PACE Network
Goal 1 -
Identify current PACE contacts in each area/council/section; where no
PACE chair is designated, default to the section chair.
Goal 2 -
Check the list against RAB Roster data for 2004 in mid-February (when the
RAB roster should have year-end updates complete).
Goal 3-
Provide the list to IEEE-USA for inclusion in its annual directory of
volunteers.
Goal 4 -
Conduct bi-monthly e-conferences plus ad hoc e-meetings when
required.
Goal 5 -
Investigate establishment of a Virtual Community for Region 3 PACE
dialogue.
Objective 2 - Facilitate PACE Training for Region 3
Goal 1
- Promote attendance at Atlanta PACE Leadership Workshop (19-21 March
2004), to include a third of sections attending.
Goal 2 -
Conduct PACE training at SOUTHEASTCON (26-28 March 2004), for those PACE
leaders who could not attend the Workshop.
Goal 3 -
Aid PACE chairs in logging L-31s electronically for PACE programs, to aid
other PACE chairs in Region 3 planning professional program
topics.
Objective 3 - Employment Assistance
Goal 1
- Publicize available tools through Region 3 print Newsletter.
Goal 2 -
Maintain current Region 3 Employment Assistance Web site.
Goal 3 -
Continue licensing the Harris Infosource industry database for employer
information (aids individual members, section employment
initiatives, and corporate
relations programs).
Goal 4 -
Encourage and assist in supporting Member Professional Awareness
Conferences, as PACE projects for Region 3 sections.
Goal 5 -
Monitor trends in region employment opportunities (e.g., biomedical
replacements for telecomm design positions), spreading the word to
other
sections on emerging trends.
Goal 6 -
Promote participation in Employment & Career Strategies Forum
(Virtual Community), operated by IEEE-USA
