Three Award “Call for Nominations” are listed below. The first is IEEE-USA and has
a new deadline of August 31st. Please look these over carefully and encourage your
members to nominate someone. We tend to do very well with these professionalism
awards, if we can just get them written up!

MGA Awards follow with a deadline of October 15th. We have many, many volunteers
who would be good candidates for these prestigious awards.

Region Award Nominations will be due December 1st. Some years we have very few
nominees. More information can be found at https://www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/awards/.
Let’s make this a banner year!

The Technical Field Awards’ is 1 February 2010.

It is not too early to look at the requirements for these awards. Awarding our
members is valuable to their careers.

Call for Nominations: 2009 IEEE-USA Awards 

IEEE-USA is seeking nominations for 2009 awards for recognition of professional,
technical and literary contributions to public awareness and understanding of the
engineering profession in the United States. The deadline for IEEE-USA's awards
nominations is 31 July 2009. Full awards descriptions and nomination forms can be
found online.

Recognizing Outstanding IEEE Volunteers - MGA Awards 

You can help recognize the efforts of outstanding volunteers by nominating someone
for one of the prestigious Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Awards. Each
prestigious award has a unique mission and criteria and offers the opportunity to
honor distinguished colleagues, inspiring teachers, and corporate leaders.

If you know someone who has made substantial Regional contributions through
innovative projects, exemplary leadership, service, or by fulfilling the goals as
related to transnational activities, consider nominating them for one of the
following awards:

·        MGA Achievement Award 
·        MGA Innovation Award 
·        MGA Leadership Award 
·        MGA Larry K. Wilson Transnational Award 
·        MGA GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Achievement Award
