History
This conference was established in the Fall of 1988 in Vancouver, BC. At
that time, the conference was sponsored by the Canadian Society of
Electrical and Computer Engineering (CSECE). In 1995, CSECE merged with
IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Region 7
to form IEEE Canada. Since then, CCECE has been the annual flagship
conference of IEEE Canada. It has become traditional to locate this
conference in different cities across Canada (following the pattern of
East, Center, West). Click here to view the locations by year.
Objectives
The major objectives of the CCECE are:
- Fostering interaction and networking in the electrical and computer
engineering R&D community in Canadian universities, industries
and governments;
- Serving as a 'political' platform for leaders, thinkers and decision
makers in industries, governments and universities, who are asked to
give plenary sessions; and
- Providing a venue for presentation of major IEEE Canada awards.
Sponsored by IEEE Canada and the Sections of Central
Canada Council
