Speaker's Biography: Arvind is the Johnson Professor and Head of
the Computation Structures Group at the Laboratory for Computer Science,
Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. His research interests span all areas of
parallel computation as well as declarative programming. He is also one
of the creators of the Dynamic Dataflow paradigm for fine granularity
parallel computation. Dr. Arvind serves on the editorial boards of
numerous journals and is an active consultant to industry. He has over
50 recent publications in parallel computing, is an IEEE Fellow and last
year received the IEEE's "Charles Babbage Outstanding Scientist" award.
