Conference Chair and Vice Chairs

It is our pleasure to invite you to join us in Ottawa for the 48th Annual IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference. In order to explore many of the facets of this dynamic industry, our organizing committee has been working diligently to prepare a stimulating program presented by a diversity of authors and panelists from all corners of the globe. In fact, we have received an unprecedented number of responses to the request for papers. As a result, we have increased the program to accommodate a total of 568 papers. In addition to the formal sessions, an important aspect of the conference will be the social events, which will allow you to enhance existing as well as develop new contacts with experts from around the world. We will therefore provide 3 luncheons and one dinner banquet with a variety of speakers, as well as have the opening reception in an original venue: The Museum of Civilization. The Grand Hall in the museum forms an interesting backdrop complete with native Canadian artifacts and a spectacular view of the Canadian Parliament buildings. Following the reception, you are invited to explore the remainder of the museum at your leisure.

The selection of Ottawa as the Host City is recognition of its unique character not only as the nation's political capital, but also as its high technology capital. Often referred to as the "Silicon Valley North", Ottawa is home to many of Canada's leading technology companies such as Nortel, Newbridge and Corel. Ottawa is also home to 2 major universities and is within two hours drive of six more major universities.

We look forward to having you join us in Ottawa to share your views on how to chart the " Pathway to a Global Wireless Revolution".
