FUTO

The 2006 academic year has begun with much high spirits in the IEEE FUTO SB. New executives have been elected and work has started in full enthusiasm. Last year, a member of the student branch had an international outing where he made a paper presentation in a conference in South Africa. This has spurred many old and new members such that the first general meeting witnessed four technical paper presentations on

1. DVB-H, DMB&Media FLO by Ogadimma Chukwukaelo
2. Wireless Power Transmission, by Philip O.
3. RFID technologies and challenges by Chiemezie Ucheaga
4. Future Private Area Networks, by Chizaram Ucheaga

The level of interest in research and technical paper presentations in FUTO has grown unprecedented. More so, the awareness of IEEE in FUTO now cuts across departmental boundaries. The first meeting had students from other disciplines, such as Industrial Physics, Maths and Computer Science, in attendance. The high interest in the IEEE has lead the SB to fix their plan paper contest earlier than scheduled in order to meet the yearnings of the members.
