Safe Electricity in Oil fields
IEEE Student Branch at Caledonian College of Engineering, Oman organised a technical lecture on Safe Electricity in Oil Fields on 29 November 2005. All IEEE student members, staff of E&CoE and Elecrical Power Engineering students attended this meeting. Mr. Mujahid Ali, IEEE student chairman, welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction about the guest speaker. Mr M.Eswarmoorthy, Principal Engineer facilities of Occidental of Oman, delivered a lecture on safety regulations to be followed in any industry. He briefly outlined about the safety in electrical systems in houses and industries. He described the need for safety in industries, safety measures used in industries. He highlighted key issues involved in electrical safety and stressed the factors such as Fuel, Temperature and Oxygen as a fire triangle. The lecture was highly interactive and beneficial to the student community. Mr A.Vallavaraj, head of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, presented a memento to the invited speaker as a token of gratitude.
