It's the year 4950 A.D. The humans have inhabited every planet that can sustain life in our galaxy cluster. As they reached the far reaches of the cluster, they encountered the Krogans, a warrior race who were lead by a dictator Gondar Wrex. He wasn't willing to co-exist with the humans. So he misinterpreted the Ner'zhul, the holy Krogan laws and starts an epic war against the humans. It rages on for over a 100 years and several planets were wiped out leaving billions dead. Wrex was killed in a human raid of the Krogan capital, Voleria. His successor comes to know about Wrex's sinister antics. So he calls for a meeting with the human senator Obi-Won. They meet and decide to have an exchange of technology as part of the peace treaty that would bring this war to an end. A special task force of the best human scientists was formed and sent to the Krogan capital. As they were passing the orbit of Aries IV, they were killed as their ship was ambushed by the covenant, an extremist group of rogue spectres from the Krogan army who were against the peace treaty. This act of terrorism cannot be allowed to hinder this treaty. So the republic announces the search for the best minds to represent the human race...
