Resource Person:
Mr. Ravikiran Annaswamy is Founder and CEO of Innohabit Technologies. He is working on various innovations enabling proximity marketing in real world. As Founder Director of Deccan Center of Innovation and Design (DCID), he works with young entrepreneurs helping them to get started and achieve market success with focus on impact innovations. He works closely with global programs like Founders Institute (Fi.Co) and Unreasonable Institute as Mentor and Coach for early stage startups.
He has over 20 years of business experience as Entrepreneur and as Business Leader at Nokia Siemens Networks and Siemens AG. He was Business Head for Indian market, led Global Product Management and was General Manager for Asia Pacific Solutions. He championed Entrepreneurship by working as Innovation head for Bangalore site of Nokia Siemens Networks.
He is an engaged Professional volunteer, was the Chairman for IEEE Bangalore section (2014-2015) and Industry Relations for IEEE-Asia Pacific (2014-15). He is currently the Secretary for IEEE R10 and Newsletter Editor for IEEE TEMS.
He has done his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and has graduated from UVCE Bangalore. He has been recognized for his work by several awards: Siemens Director's award for Innovation, Customer management and Project Execution, IEEE
Bangalore - Best volunteer award, Runner up at AIMA's National Contest for Young Managers and Asia finalist at Global Social Venture Competition conducted by Berkley Haas school of business.
About The Inaugural Function:
The Inaugural Function started with welcoming the Chief Guest Mr. Ravikiran Annaswami, Secretary, IEEE R10, Asia Pacific Region, the President Dr.S.Y.Kulkarni, Pro-VC, REVA University, other dignitaries Dr. S.S.Manvi, Principal RITM & Director, School of ECE, Dr.R.C.Biradar, Director, School of ECE, and Dr. R.V.Siva Reddy, Professor, School of ECE & Secretary, IEEE Bangalore Section. Followed by lightning the lamp the lamp.
Initially, Mr. Adarsh M.R., IEEE Student Member, explain briefly about what is IEEE and its beni fits. He also shared his own experience as a IEEE Student Member. Miss. Sharada N.S., Chair, and Prof. Shrikant S. Tangade, Asst. Prof., School of ECE & Counsellor, IEEE Student Branch have shared the details of all last events and upcoming events organized by IEEE Student Branch. Similarly, Mr. Rohan Vijay, Chair and Miss Sanjana Suman, V.Chair of IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter have introduced and shared upcoming events of IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter.
The President of the function Dr. S.Y.Kulkarni Sir has discussed about 13-skills required to become extra-ordinary engineers. Sir also told about how IEEE will help to acquire these 13-skills. The other delegates of the functions Dr. S.S.Manvi Sir requested every student and faculty to become a member of one international & national professional bodies. Further, he explained how these professional bodies helps to update current technology and how to get grants for conferences and summer schools. Dr. R.C. Biradar Sir shared one story of success, which tells how important of continuous updating our technical skills in addition to our regular study or work. Dr. R.V. Siva Reddy Sir gave overall view of IEEE and its benefits with respect to students and faculty. Sir also mentioned that, it left to IEEE members how effectively they make use of this International platform to improve their technical and leadership skills. Finally, the Chief Guest Mr. Ravikiran Annaswamy Sir gave overall growth of IEEE Bangalore Section and IEEE R10-Asia Pacific Region. Sir also shared that IEEE R10 is the best region in the world. After the Inauguration, Sir has gave general talk on different benefits of IEEE like awards and scholarships. Before Sir concluded, interacted with Students and answered all queries asked by students.

" The IEEE Student Branch REVA University initially started with only 14 IEEE Student Members in the month of April-2016 and currently it has now Total-105. This is achieved in very short time period of 3-months. Still many more students are eager to become members.
