IEEE - VIT Student Branch

Technical Article Writing Competition

IEEE Student branch of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology is having a Technical Article Writing Competition...

Technical writing is basically, just picking up a technical topic and elaborating on it and writing it from the first person perspective, giving your views about it. Thus it is writing an article which will depict the pros and cons of a particular technology, industry etc.

The writing is strictly not supposed to be formal.

The topics may be related to any possible technical field, but the article should not be in a formal language.

The article should not be plagiarized.

The possible fields for choosing the articles are: - (these are just examples, We are not omnipotent, you have the liberty to choose anything you want)

1. Evolutionary Computing, inaccurate and costly.... Is  the technology worth it?

2. Artificial Intelligence, do we have the ability to build something, rather someone like us?

3. Open Source, is it really a necessity?

4. Quantum Computing

5. Cloud Computing

6. Tera-hertz technology

7. Google monopolizing the web

8. Any thing related to numbers

9. Physics in day today life

10. Cryptography

11. Mathematical model of various aspects of life

12. Robotics, the advancement, the road ahead

13. Security Systems to make this world a better place to live  in

14. SCIENCE FICTION (For fans of Batman, Star Wars, terminator or maybe even the big TV Series HEROES, this is a really interesting platform to show how your science fiction character can be characterized)

These are just sample topics, we haven't heard about even half of them. The entire endeavor includes searching the interesting topics, compiling information, making theories or hypothesis which need not be necessarily correct but you will need a proof/reasoning to support your claim.

The aim of this competition is just to enhance your ability to sense and understand things.

It is just to help you realize the importance of understanding the developing technology through the eyes of an engineer and not just learning without understanding. It will serve the purpose of bringing you out from your shells and seeing the world through the eyes of a geek.
