Seminar on Next Generation Networks

The seminar was designed to offer a technical understanding related to the Next generation of Networks. The seminar started with the vision and the architecture of the next generation of networks that will be seen in near future and beyond. The transport network and its requirements were discussed first and then the access networks will be presented. These include the wired, the wireless and the personal access networks. The Next Generation Network requirements and the evolution of the network from the existing networks were also discussed. The presentation also discussed how these networks communicate with each other. This includes a discussion of the key quality of service mechanisms. Brief list of discussed topics is:
- The functions of the transmission, access and services networks
- The roles of the different access networks
- The requirements of a Next Generation Network
- How services will work in Next Generation Networks
- Influence of technology advancements, regulatory requirements, business requirements, and the requirements of new services on Next Generation Networks
