About Workshop
Objective of the Activity
The objective of the activity is to familiarize the participants with the fundamentals of Medical Imaging Modalities such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT). The workshop also aims at introducing the participants to image processing on a hardware platform such as the TI DaVinci Board.
Details of the Activity
The workshop is being planned in collaboration with industrial participation from GE Healthcare, Texas Instruments, and EdGate. Initially, EdGate will be conducting a workshop on the DaVinci Image Processing Board. Following this, GE Healthcare will conduct sessions on imaging using MRI and CT Scanners. The participants will be familiarized with the process of image generation in MRI and CT. Finally, Texas Instruments will be conducting a workshop on image processing and conditioning.
Benefits to Members/Community
The members will gain a firsthand perspective on the imaging modalities used for cross section imaging of the human body. Understanding the principle behind the technique will enable them to work better on medical imaging and image processing applications. They will be familiarised with image processing applications by TI, and training on the DaVinci system will provide them with know-how of a platform to develop image processing applications.
