Retiring Associate Editors honored for Service
The archival publications of our Society are familiar to all of our members: each of you subscribes to one or two (or all three) and now has access to them on the IEEE website. Something less familiar to our readers is the very large effort required from hundreds of volunteers who serve as peer reviewers, associate editors, and guest editors. Without these dedicated technologists, our publications would not be possible. These are the people who enable the sharing of information that keeps our porfession advancing technically.
Vice President for Publications Paul Wesling gave certificates to four retiring Associate Editors for our Transactions.
Dr. Ephraim
Suhir of Lucent Technologies has served on our
Transactions on
Components and Packaging Technologies and also been a Guest Editor.
Professor Larry Burton of Penn State was also acknowledged for
12 years of service as an Associate Editor for Trans-CPT.
Dr. Wulf
Knausenberger, retired from Lucent, has been Associate Editor
and Guest Editor for our
Transactions on Advanced Packaging. Harry
Lockwood, retired from GTE, was the original Associate Editor
for our expanded focus on optoelectronics packaging in the Transactions
on Advanced Packaging.
We thank these fellow professionals for their willingness to spend the time arranging for the peer reviews of technical papers and helping the authors prepare their manuscripts for publication.
