IEEE CPMT Bangalore
Chapter Starts India in IT Hardware
CPMT Bangalore Chapter's launch
in December sets the stage for India to go from Design to Developement
and ultimately to IT Manufacturing.
India has been well known, outside India, as the software
capital of the world but not so well known for other IT technologies.
It is becoming a major player in hardware design
as well as in IT services. India is clearly poised to go beyond
these to include hardware. CPMT Chapter with its focus from Design
to hardware technologies to manufacturing will energize to make
India a more complete global player in hardware, software,
services and applications in decades ahead".
Prof Rao R Tummala
Past President of IEEE CPMT

IEEE has recognized the official formation of the CPMT Bangalore Chapter as of 17 November 2004. When notified of the formation of the CPMT Bangalore Chapter, Mr. Kuppuswamy Raghunathan said: "We want to live up to the standards set by other chapters; given the presence of leading semiconductor companies in India (50+ and growing)." The new CPMT Chapter plans to have its inaugural meeting in the 2nd week of December while Rao Tummala and Madhavan Swaminathan will be visiting Bangalore.
