The EMC Society Board of Directors, at its November
16, 2004 meeting, approved a change to Paragraph 4.5 in Section
4 of the EMC Society Bylaws: “Nomination and Election of
the Board of Directors”. Paragraph 4.5 was amended to change
the minimum number of nominees from 12 to 9. Text of the current
and amended paragraphs follows:
Current 4.5: On or before 15 July, the Chairman of the Nominating
Committee shall mail to IEEE Headquarters the slate of at least
12 nominees for election to the six offices to be filled on the
Board of Directors.
Amended 4.5: On or before 15 July, the Chairman of the Nominating
Committee shall mail to IEEE Headquarters the slate of at least
9 nominees for election to the six offices to be filled on the
Board of Directors.
The amendment was approved by IEEE and will become effective after
this Newsletter Notice has been distributed to the membership.
The amendment will apply to the 2005 Board of Directors Nomination
and Election cycle.
