Long Beach Selected for
2011 EMC Symposium!
Bruce Archambeault, Symposium Site Selection Committee Chair, joins Karen Strgacich of the Long Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Ray Adams, Los Angeles EMC Chapter Chair, and Carolyn Brown also of the Long Beach CVB (from left), following their presentation on Long Beach as the potential site of the 2011 IEEE EMC Symposium.

I am pleased to announce the selection of Long Beach, California as the site for the 2011 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility. The dates will be August 2214 through August 2619, 2011. The EMC Society approved the selection of the Long Beach site at its November 2006 Board of Directors meeting. The Board was pleased to have two very good sites from which to choose.
The Board of Directors heard the site presentations at the August Board meeting. Ray Adams of Fischer Custom Communications, Inc. and Chair of the Los Angeles EMC Chapter presented the Long Beach site and Michael Oliver of MAJR Products Corporation and Chair of the new Pittsburgh EMC Chapter presented the Pittsbugh site. Both presentations were excellent and very complete. I would like to thank Michael and his crew for their application and hope they will apply for 2012.
The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center will be the venue for 2011 and the Hyatt Regency Long Beach will be the host hotel. I hope you will join me in wishing Ray and the crew from Los Angeles much success in their efforts to produce a world class event.
If you are a Chapter member and would like to have your Chapter host the annual symposium, please see the “Call for Symposium Hosts” . EMC
