Lois Heirman

Lois Heirman, wife of EMC Society Board member Don Heirman, passed away in January from complications of cancer. Many of you will remember her smile and friendship as she traveled to symposia and meetings around the world with Don. She was at the Society’s 50th Anniversary Symposium in Hawaii enjoying every moment of it and getting together with her friends again. Some of you may remember the Society’s symposium in Cherry Hill, New Jersey in 1991 where Don was the chairman and Lois was his right hand person working away at whatever she was asked to do. She strongly supported Don in his work in the IEEE and the EMC Society as well as his other committee activity worldwide. But most will remember her smile that lit up the room when she entered. She is survived by Don who wishes to thank all who sent him sympathy cards and before her passing, sent get well cards to Lois. The latter cards were read to her even when she was too weak to do it herself. They added some pleasure during her painful last five months. She was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in the Washington DC area in mid February. That was only fitting for such a wonderful person. EMC
