The hotel reservation for the conference is managed by the Universita' della Svizzera Italiana. The available accomodations are listed below.

The discounted room rates can be obtained only if the reservation is done through the Universita' della Svizzera Italiana by performing the following steps: Your reservation will be confirmed you by fax or email within 3 working days.

The reservation deadline to obtain the discounted rates, subject to room availability, is 30 May 2003. No exception. Reservation requests will be processed with the first-in first-served policy.

After the above deadline, subject to room availability, the hotels may apply the non-discounted rates.

All the above rates are valid only for reservations concerning any period from 25 July 2003 till 1 August 2003.

The reservation service performed by the Universita' della Svizzera Italiana is free of charge.

To obtain the above rates, the reservation must be guaranteed by credit card. No exception.

Cancellations will be accepted by the Universita' della Svizzera Italiana without penalties if performed before 30 June 2003. Cancellation received after 30 Juny 2003 are subject to a charge equal to the total amount due for whole reserved period (i.e., the number of reserved night times the daily rate of the reserved room).

BY AIRPLANE
A regional airport is located in Lugano. International flights arrive at the international airports of Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Milano-Malpensa (Italy), and other European cities.
From Milano-Malpensa you can take a bus to Lugano: see the SEA web site for the schedule (from the airpost the bus is scheduled every day at 9.00, 10.30, 12.30, 14.30, 16.30, 18.30, 20.30).

BY CAR
Lugano is reachable through the highways which connect northern Europe to the Mediterranean. Approximate distances from some Swiss towns are: Basel 287 km, Berne 302 km, Geneva 446 km, Zurich 227 km. Lugano is about 856 km far from Paris (France), 77 km from Milan (Italy), and 644 km from Rome (Italy).
Downtown, the parking space is rather limited. A large number of parking places are available in the university garage. Please, verify if your hotel has parking space available by contacting the hotel in advance.
