Student Travel Grants
Call for Applications
Thanks for the generous support from the National science foundation, students who are studying at US institutions, and who are planning to present their work at IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2011, are invited to apply for a travel grant. This grant will cover partial airfare reimbursement for coach/economy class on US flag carriers only. In addition, each awardee will be eligible for up to $400 to support conference registration and workshop and tutorial costs at a rate of an IEEE student member. The deadline for submitting an application is Sept. 1, 2011, and awards will be announced by Sept. 10, 2011. with "IROS Travel Grant Application" as the subject line. Item (3) below should be prepared by the applicant. The email should contain the following information:
- The name of the applicant, the applicant's email address and university, and verification that the applicant is a student at the time of the submission of the request for travel funds.
- The number and title of the paper the applicant will present at IROS 2011, and a one-sentence description of the technical area of interest of the paper.
- A brief description (e.g., one paragraph) of opportunities for planned visits before or after IROS 2011, and the expected impact of participation in IROS 2011 on the applicant's professional development.
- If applicable, the funding agency and grant title and number under which the research was performed.
- Other sources of travel funding available for the applicant. Note that this travel grant will not cover all expenses, so other funding sources should be available.
