Getting Around
San Francisco is conveniently accessible by plane. You can easily get to the conference Venue from the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC), or the Oakland International Airport (OAK).
Getting To and From the Airport
If you are arriving by plane, the following options can be used to reach the conference hotel.

If you choose to travel to the conference venue using SuperShuttle, you must book yours in advance. Please visit the SuperShuttle website to book rides to and from the airport.
Upon arriving at SFO:
- Taxis can be accessed at the pickup locations shown here.
- To take a Lyft or an Uber, you must have an account with the respective compnay. You will meet your ride at the Departure Level (2nd floor for domestic terminals 1-3, 3rd floor for international terminal 4). More detailed instructions for taking a Lyft from SFO can be found here. - The BART is accessed by taking SFO’s AirTran to the Garage G/BART Station Stop in the International Terminal shown here.
- To take a pre-reserved SuperShuttle from SFO, follow signs for Shared Ride Van (not Ground Transportation or Shuttle). More detailed instructions can be found here. Please remember to book your SuperShuttle online in advance of your travel!
Upon arriving at SJC:
- Taxis can be accessed at Terminal A, Stop 2 and Terminal B, Stop 1, as detailed here.
- To take a Lyft or an Uber, you must have an account with the respective compnay. If you take a Lyft, you will meet your ride at the Charter Bus pickup area at the Ground Transportation island for Terminal A or the hotel pickup area at the Ground Transportation island for Terminal B. If you take an Uber, you will meet your ride outside baggage claim at “Stop 1” for Terminal A and at the Ground Transportation traffic island at “Stop 9” for terminal B. - To take a pre-reserved SuperShuttle from SJC, call 1-650-246-2740 and provide your confirmation number, after collecting luggage. You may then meet your ride by the Prearranged Pickup sign located on the curb. Please remember to book your SuperShuttle online in advance of your travel!
Upon arriving at OAK:
- Some taxis should be available; ask an airport employee to direct you to the nearest taxi stand.
- To take a Lyft or an Uber, you must have an account with the respective compnay. Follow the signs for the “Smartphone App Rides” to meet your ride at the second curb of the pickup area under stop 2E. More detailed instructions for taking a Lyft from OAK can be found here. - The BART Station is located just across from Terminal 1 Baggage Claim and a short walk from Terminal 2. More detailed instructions for taking the BART from OAK can be found here. More detailed instructions for taking the BART to OAK can be found here.
- To take a pre-reserved SuperShuttle from OAK, call 1-650-246-2740 upon arrival to be connected to local dispatch. You may then proceed to baggage claim and collect your luggage. All pickups at Oakland Airport are by the “3F” sign located on the 3rd curb. Please remember to book your SuperShuttle online in advance of your travel!
Things to Do in San Francisco
San Francisco, known as the city by the bay, is the cultural and financial center of Northern California. Famous for its mild climate, fog, and rolling hills, San Francisco has something for everyone. You can’t miss seeing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge or riding on the historic cable cars. Visit Fisherman’s Wharf to see all the fishing boats, seafood stalls and restaurants, and souvenir shops, and make a stop at Pier 39 for some amazing views. Walk down the Embarcadero and eat your way through the Ferry Building Marketplace. Explore Chinatown, including the Chinatown Gate, shops, and restaurants. There are also a large number of museums to visit, including the Museum of Modern Art (SF MOMA), the de Young Museum, the Exploratorium, and the California Academy of Sciences. If you have time for a day trip, Alcatraz Island and Muir Woods are both close by.
Getting Around San Francisco
In addition to walking, BART and Muni can be used to get around SF. BART is the Bay Area Rapid Transit light-rail system, and Muni is the San Francisco Municipal Railroad.
