Social events

Four social events have been organized during ICRA'07. Access to the welcome cocktail, awards lunch, and farewell party is free to all registered conference participants (including students). Participation to the banquet is included in the regular registrations or in the Student Premium registrations.

Welcome Cocktail

A welcome cocktail will be offered to all ICRA'07 participants on Tuesday 10 April, 18:30-20:00, in the Cloister of S. Pietro in Vincoli at the School of Engineering. This is the same site where tutorials and workshops take place (they end half an hour before). For participating, please use the "welcome" ticket received included in your registration material. On Tuesday, the ICRA'07 registration desk will be open from 7:30 to 20:00 at the School of Engineering.

Banquet

The ICRA'07 banquet will be on Thursday 12 April, 19:00-23:00, at Villa Miani. This villa, built as a private mansion in the early '900, is surrounded by gardens and located on top of the Monte Mario hill (see https://www.villamiani.com/), offering a wonderful view of Rome especially at sunset. The banquet will be a pure social event, open also to accompanying persons. Bus transportation will leave from the Angelicum conference site and return there at the end. Further instructions will be given on site. The trip takes about 25 minutes (less on the way back). For participating, please show the "banquet" ticket at the bus pick-up. Extra tickets are available at 100 USD each through the ICRA'07 registration site.

Awards Lunch

All ICRA'07 participants are invited to attend the ICRA'07/RAS Awards Lunch, on Friday 13 April, 12:20-13:50, in the Aula Magna at the Angelicum University conference site. This event is free for all participants. Complimentary box lunches will be distributed at the entrance. The ICRA'07 Conference Awards, the RAS Transactions Best Paper Awards, the RAS Society Awards, and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Technical Field Award will be presented. RAS members who have been elected IEEE Fellows will be recognized.

The ICRA'07 Conference Awards include: Best Conference Paper, Best Student Paper, Best Automation Paper, Best Manipulation Paper, Best Vision Paper, and Best Video (for more information on these awards, see here). The RAS Society Awards include: Pioneer, Early Career, Distinguished Service, Chapter of the Year, Most Active Technical Committee, and the new Invention and Entrepreneurship Award (see also the IERA'07 special event in conjunction to ICRA'07) and Inaba Technical Award for Innovation leading to Production. Everyone is encouraged to take this opportunity to honor our distinguished colleagues.

Farewell Party

At the end of the conference, a farewell party will gather all ICRA'07 participants on Friday 13 April, 19:00-20:30, at the Angelicum University (including the garden). Light buffet and drinks will be available. For participating, please use the "farewell" ticket included in your registration material.
