Contributed Papers are regular manuscripts allotted 6 Proceedings pages. All manuscripts must be in 2-column format and meet strict page limits. For the purpose of review only, manuscripts may be up to eight (8) pages long. However, normal length for the final manuscript is limited to six (6) pages. Papers exceeding the normal length may be submitted upon payment of overlength page charges of USD 200 for each page in excess of six. A maximum of two extra pages above normal six are permitted.
The manuscript must be submitted as a PDF file through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza). The maximum allowed size of the PDF file is 2 MB. General information on how to create IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs by yourself or using IEEE PDF eXpress™ are given in the overview section of the submission policies.
All questions related to initial and final submissions of Contributed papers should be directed to the Publication Chair, Ian Walker.
Nomination for Best Student Paper Award
Contributed Papers can be considered for the ICRA'07 Best Student Paper Award, provided that the first author is a student and primary developer of the ideas contained in the paper. The student must be a current IEEE Student member. In order to be considered for the award, the paper must be nominated by the student's faculty advisor by compiling a Nomination Form that can be downloaded from here.
The nominator should fill in this form (a .doc file), including in particular the student's data, the number provided by the PaperPlaza system to the already submitted paper, and a justification for the nomination. The nominated paper should NOT be resubmitted, as it is already in the system. The filled Nomination Form should be converted to a PDF file and submitted through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza).
Accompanying Video clips
A novelty of ICRA'07 is that a short Video Clip of 1-2 minutes may accompany a Contributed Paper. The video clip is intended to enhance the contents of a paper, both in clarity and in added value. While the paper should be self-contained (i.e., fully readable and understandable independently from the video), the video clip can be something like those shown during authors' presentations at the conference. Please, keep it short and focused.Video clips should be prepared without using "special" codecs (coders/decoders) in order to provide as much portability across platforms as possible. Accordingly, the most common media formats are strongly recommended (mpeg 1 or mpeg 4). Only freely available players (e.g., QuickTime, RealPlayer, Microsoft Windows Media Player, MPlayer) should be required for viewing the video.
Video clips are submitted with the Contributed paper through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza). The maximum size allowed of the video clip is 5 MB and the file should have the extension mpg.
A video clip is reviewed together with the related paper. If the paper is accepted and the video is rated pertinent, the video clip will be also included in the conference DVD.
