Christchurch International Airport (CHC)
Christchurch International Airport is located only 12 kms (7.5 miles) from the Christchurch city center, approximately a 20-minute drive. With its new international terminal, Christchurch now has a world-class facility catering to over 3 million passengers each year. Passenger airlines servicing the Christchurch International Airport are as follows:

Taxi Service
Taxi service from Christchurch International Airport to the Christchurch city center is approximately a 20 to 30 minute drive and the cost is $35 - $40 (NZD) one-way. The cost is reduced for two or more passengers traveling together.

Public Transportation
There are two Christchurch bus services that run from the airport to the city center, the number 29 via Fendalton and the number 10 via Merivale. Departure Tax
An international departure tax of $25 (NZD) applies when leaving New Zealand, payable by anyone age 12 or over. For children 2 - 11, a $10 (NZD) tax is applied. The tax is not included in the price of airline tickets, but must be paid separately at the airport before you board your flight. Pay via credit card or cash.
