Dr. Rajnish Gupta is currently a Deputy Director in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore. His technical areas of interest include power system planning and operation, system reliability, power system economics and renewable energy. Dr Gupta is also very passionate in promoting engineering among school students. He has been member of many national committees which are actively promoting engineering as a course of study and career.
Rajnish Gupta, obtained a B.E (Hons) degree in electrical engineering from India in 1988. Subsequently, he worked in an engineering consulting company as an engineer. He then obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada.
Dr. Gupta served IEEE in various positions including Chairman of the IEEE Power Engineering Chapter, Treasurer and Secretary of the IEEE Singapore Section. Presently, he the Chairman of the IEEE Singapore Section, Singapore.
Dr. Gupta received the Teaching Excellence Award at Singapore Polytechnic in 2002, the Outstanding Power Engineer of the Year Award from Power Engineering Chapter, IEEE Singapore in 2006 and Singapore National Day Commendation Medal in 2007.
