Mastering Soft Skills for Business & Engineering with Carl Selinger
IEEE Women in Engineering is hosting acclaimed author Carl Selinger for an enlightening speaking event. Come out to hear Carl's unique, educational and entertaining perspective on soft skills in the workplace, followed by an opportunity to network with other professionals over food and refreshments.
Both women and men are encouraged to attend this exciting event.
Great soft skills are the key to professional success!
Soft skills are those skills relating to people issues, and they are at least as important, and often even more important, than technical skills when it comes to obtaining professional success. Soft skills can also be an important part of the success of an organization. Organizations, particularly those frequently dealing first hand with customers, are generally more prosperous if they train their staff to use these skills. For this reason, soft skills are increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications.
Carl is the author of the book "Stuff You Don't Learn in Engineering School" and has numerous articles published in Spectrum magazine including the latest "Who Dares, Wins: How to act boldly but not foolishly". Carl is known for mentoring young professional women, specifically IEEE members and as part of Women's Transportation Seminar.
