Visit of 2010 IEEE President-Elect

In September 2010, the IEEE Wits Student Branch in conjunction with the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) of the IEEE South Africa Section, proudly hosted a guest lecture by the 2010 IEEE President-Elect Professor Moshe Kam.

The topic of this talk was: Decision Integration and Robot Navigation Research at Drexel University’s Data Fusion Laboratory. This event was well attended by students and staff from the university as well as visitors from industy in the Johannesburg area.

This event was made possible through the sponsorship of the IEEE South Africa Section and the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. The ExCom members from the Wits Student Branch were responsible for the logistics and are pictured here with Moshe Kam (2010 IEEE President-Elect) and Jacques Van Wyk (IEEE South Africa Section).

If you are interested in attending events such as this in 2011 then we encourage you to become a member of the IEEE Wits Student Branch. You can find information about how to Join or Contact the Wits Student Branch on this website.
