Alfonso Bilbao Iglesias was born in Madrid, Spain.  Alfonso is married, with two sons and one daughter. He is a Telecommunications Engineer (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, 1977), and he has worked in Security for the last 30 years. Alfonso owns a Security Consultant company, mainly focused in risk analysis and security systems installation and maintenance in Spain.

Alfonso, member of the IEEE Spanish Section since 1981, was speaker in the IEEE ICCST in 1983, 1989 and 1992.  He hosted the 1999 ICCST in Madrid, Spain.
