Dr. Clifton Smith is Associate Professor in Security Science, School of Engineering and Mathematics at Edith Cowan University, Perth Australia, where he has developed academic programmes in Security Science at the degree, Masters, and PhD levels. Current research includes biometric and ballistics imaging, optical character recognition of vehicle registration plates, sensors in security, together with knowledge structures in learning. Professor Smith has published extensively on security-related topics, and has presented many invited addresses on security. Dr Smith is a strong advocate for professionalism in the security industry.
