Mr. M. Jonckheere has been involved in
the security electronics industry since 1975, when he joined the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police as a civilian member to work on the design of covert audio and
video systems. He joined the Canadian federal penitentiary service in 1981, and
retired in 2005 as the Director General, Technical Services.
His responsibilities included
the provision of the general direction for electronic security systems within
the federal penitentiaries in Canada. This included the evaluation, procurement,
installation, maintenance and the replacement for the electronic security
systems to help optimize the effectiveness of the manpower force, encompassing all
the perimeter security systems, land mobile and hard wired communication
systems, contraband detection systems, internal detection as well as the closed
circuit television systems. Since his retirement, he has been called upon to
provide expert advice for international organizations and governments. He is currently the corporate advisor on
security systems and services for the ADGA Group of consultants.
Mr.
Jonckheere received a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Engineering
Physics from McMaster University in Hamilton,
Ontario, Canada in 1971 and 1972 respectively and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
