Student Travel Grants for ICHI 2019

Application Deadline: May 3rd, 2019

We are pleased that the U.S. National Science Foundation has agreed to provide financial support for doctoral students attending ICHI 2019. Eligible expenses consist of registration, airfare, and up to 3 nights at the conference hotel. Expenses will be reimbursed after the conference, upon submission of adequate evidence (e.g., receipts).

Priority will be given to doctoral students who have been accepted for participation in the Doctoral Consortium. However, others may also be considered based on availability of funds.

To be considered, a student must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time doctoral student at a U.S. institution by the time of the conference.
  • Have insufficient funds from other sources to attend ICHI 2019.
  • Register to attend ICHI 2019.

We highly encourage applications from under-represented minority groups.

To apply for the support, please email the following documents to the Doctoral Consortium Chair with the subject "ICHI 2019 Student Travel Support".

  1. An application letter stating that the applicant meets all the criteria listed above. Those from minority groups need to explain why they belong to such under-represented groups. Authors of accepted papers/posters should also include the paper ID.
  2. A signed letter from the applicant's advisor to confirm that the applicant is a full-time doctoral student and has insufficient funds from other sources.
