   PowerAfrica 2007 AUTHOR'S KIT 
  
   
  
  To prepare and submit the final version of a paper for inclusion in the 
  conference
  proceedings, authors must perform ALL the subsequent activities:  
  
   
  
   - prepare the final manuscript
 
   - prepare the electronic version of the final
       manuscript
 
   - prepare the copyright transfer form
 
   - send the electronic version of the final
       manuscript
 
   - send the copyright transfer form
 
   
    
  
  
   - Prepare the final
       version of the manuscript according to the guidelines given below.
       Please, follow them carefully to ensure inclusion of your paper
       in the proceedings. For your convenience, the guidelines are made
       available in the following formats: 
 
   
  2.     
  HTML: the guidelines in HTML
  format can be read and printed directly from your network browser. 
   
  3.     
  RTF: the skeleton for your
  paper in RTF format with macros for Microsoft Word can be downloaded and used
  to type your manuscript in the desired format. 
   
  4.     
  LATEX and LaTeX Hints:
  the LaTex macro style file can be downloaded and
  referenced in your LaTex file to obtain the desired
  format. 
   
  For your convenience, a sample paper indicating the text appearance is provided in the following formats:
       
  PDF: an example of a paper in the
  PDF format 
   
    
  WORD: an example of a paper in the
  PDF format 
    
  REMEMBER: the final
  version of a paper in PDF format cannot exceed 8 pages. At least one author should submit the registration form to the conference secretariat before 11 May 2007.  
   
   
  
  
   - An electronic
       version of the final manuscript must be generated for the conference
       proceedings. 
 
        
       From the final manuscript formatted as instructed above, authors must
       generate the electronic version in PDF (Portable Document) format that is
       compatible with the IEEE Explore database.  
        
       Only searchable, indexed PDF
       files will be accepted. NO scanned documents or documents sent from
       a digital sender will be accepted. 
       You MUST create the pdf file directly
       from your word processing software. 
       Complete detailed guidelines and requirements for PDF generation are
       available here.  
   
  Software
  (freeware) that you may use to convert your document to PDF format (that
  complies with IEEE XPLORE format) is CutePDF.
   
    
  Name
    your PDF file with the conference name, PowerAfrica,
    the paper identifier number, and the last name of the contact author. For
    example, if the contact author is Dr. Vincente and the paper identifier is 1035,
    the PDF file should be PowerAfrica-1035-vincente.pdf  
     
    You should check the correctness of your PDF file before submitting it
    electronically.  If you have any
    problem, please contact the 
      PC Chair .  
    
     
    
    
   
  
  
   - Fill in and sign the IEEE Copyright Transfer
       form. For your convenience,
       it is made available in various formats below 
 
       
       PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required)  
       Word Document 
       Print (handwrite) your paper number (e.g., PowerAfrica 2007-1035) in the upper right corner
     of the form. 
        
       Fill in the paper title and the names of all authors. In the "IEEE
       Publication Title" type "PES PowerAfrica 2007 Proceedings".  
        
       Sign your name in the space for "Author/Authorized Agent for Joint
       Authors" or in the space for "Authorized Signature". Print (handwrite)
       your name below your signature. 
        
       Print (handwrite) the date in the "Date" field.  
        
       If applicable, the "U.S. Government Employee Certification"
       and the "Crown Copyright Certification" should be also filled
       and signed. 
        
       The IEEE is enforcing strict copyright rules. The forms should be handwritten since NO electronic forms and
       signatures will not be accepted. Once the form is completed it can be faxed or e-mail to the conference secretariat as explained in step 5.  
        
       NO PAPER WILL BE PUBLISHED WITHOUT THE SIGNED COPYRIGHT FORM.  
       
        
       
       
      
    
  
  
   - Send the electronic version of the final manuscript for inclusion in
       the proceedings by 11 MAY 2007 to powerafrica@gmail.com
       
 
        
       Send the PDF file by email as an attachment, to powerafrica@gmail.com.  The subject line of the email
       transmission MUST contain the paper identifier number, and the first 4
       words in the title of the paper. For example if your paper identifier number is 1035 and the title of your paper is "Multisensor Classification for Innovative Laser Material Processing Units", then the subject line should read 1035-Multisensor Classification for Innovative. This email address should ONLY be used for paper submission, and
     not for any other purpose. 
       Any correspondence with the conference organizers should be
     addressed to  
     
        
       
       
        
    
  
  To verify that your manuscript has been received by the conference secretariat,
  check the PAPER STATUS section at the bottom of this
  page: when the manuscript has been correctly received, its title will be
  listed there. Please, allow three (3) working days before checking the status
  of your manuscript. If your paper does not appear, DO NOT resubmit
  it. Contact the 
  PC Chair  and wait for instructions.  
   
  Send ONLY PDF files.  
   
   
  
  
   - Send the signed Copyright Transfer form
       by 11 MAY 2005 to the 
       conference secretariat by fax,
       or via email (scanned form
       is OK): 
 
        
       Remember that your paper cannot be included in the conference
       proceedings without the signed IEEE Copyright Transfer form.  
        
       Due to new IEEE regulations, the author who signed the copyright
       transfer form or the presenter will be required to resign this form at
       the conference because the original handwritten signature must be
       filed with the IEEE Headquarters.
