Christchurch International Airport (CHC) Christchurch International Airport is located only 12 kms (7.5 miles) from the Christchurch city center, approximately a 20-minute drive. Taxi service from Christchurch International Airport to the Christchurch city center is approximately a 20 to 30 minute drive and the cost is $35 - $40 (NZD) one-way. The cost is reduced for two or more passengers traveling together. Public Transportation There are two Christchurch bus services that run from the airport to the city center, the number 29 via Fendalton and the number 10 via Merivale. All buses arrive and depart from the front of the main terminal building.
