The IEEE Humanitarian Technology Challenge, through its committed volunteers, is acting as a catalyst to partner educational institutions, industry, non-profit organizations, civic organizations, IEEE branches and organizations towards implementing people-oriented health solutions for developing nations. The PCT main stakeholders are: The University of Ottawa, Algonquin College, EION Wireless, Alpha Beta, the IEEE Ottawa Section, IEEE HIC and volunteers.

Mission

The HTC is an innovative, multidisciplinary and collaborative endeavor that will develop and implement health solutions utilizing technology as a tool. Our mission is to create solutions that are sustainable, scalable and adaptable to multiple environments so they can be implemented locally within the environmental, cultural, structural, political, and socio-economic conditions where they will be deployed. At the same time, we seek to support the work of United Nations and other humanitarian assistance groups worldwide in their efforts to reach the Millenium Development Goals.
