The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS) Student Branch Chapter at the University of Calcutta was established on December 16, 2024, with the identification code SBC28561E. It serves as a dedicated platform for fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among students, academicians, researchers, and industry professionals in the fields of instrumentation and measurement.
Recognizing the critical role of instrumentation and measurement in engineering and industrial applications, this chapter strives to create a vibrant community for learning and innovation. Inspired by the success of the IEEE CSS-IMS Joint Chapter, Kolkata Section, established in 2014, this student branch chapter continues the legacy of interdisciplinary engagement.
The chapter provides opportunities for students to connect with professionals, participate in technical events, and contribute to cutting-edge research. Many members of the community actively publish in IEEE Transactions, highlighting their dedication to advancing knowledge in instrumentation and measurement. The chapter is committed to empowering students to excel academically and professionally while promoting the mission and values of the IEEE IMS.
